Hi! My husband and I started rescuing abused breeder persians about 4 years ago. In that time we have taken in 5 cats all of whom where in dire need of medical treatment for various reasons. We've spent hundreds one these cats even though we where told all but one would surely die.
So what! Just because they'll be dead before the year is out, we shouldn't try to save them? Or at least buy them some happy time?
Because Leona had a tumor the size of a tennis ball, and when it was removed it started to grow back immediately, we should have her PTS? I don't think so! She had 7 happy months in a house full of socible cats and 2 full time human slaves.
And Al lasted almost a year even with degenerative liver disease, sniffing cat nip and snacking on tuna fish
And even though Mannies' heart finally gave out, he went curled up with Jerry Lee and The Big Grey Cat pleasefuylly and happy.
And the damage to Pum'kins kidneys due to her untreated diabities didn't stop her from having turkey for her last Thanksgiving.
But Pooh Bear is still around and will be for years to come! His problems are on going, allergic to fleas and certain protiens, but hey! We use a little Advantage, and feed him special food and he's good to go!
Anyway, now that I've rambled on, my point is, I have room for another persian in need. I usually only rescue abused *extreme faced* breeders. My vet and I specialize in them because so few people relise the problems peke faces can have.
So if you know of any kittys who might need my help, please let me know.
I'm in S.W. MO.
