NorCal puppyraiser needed

Anyone in No. California with a yen for a little puppy breath? There's a woman (major doper) living in her car with her Golden Retriever. And the 11 puppies the Golden whelped in the past few days. The sire is supposedly a lab. The woman's sister called the pound, hoping they could take the dogs from this situation, and the pound called the Humane Society for help. We want both mom and pups, but don't have a foster home available.

Anyone feel like raising a large litter, with Mom's help? We'll cover all costs and supply everything except time & love.

Yep. No available foster interested in raising mixed-breed pups. What really frosted me was that we also tried Tony LoRussa's ARF, with their $3.5 mil annual budget and 31 paid fulltime staff, but $0 emergency med fund that requires them to refer all of those calls to us. They said they had no available foster homes - then ran a full page fundraising ad on Sunday saying they had 200 foster homes waiting to take in more rescues.

I really wouldn't mind if they were the only rescue in business - so long as they took all of the animals who needed them.

What happened with this mama dog and her 11 puppies??? Did you find anyone willing to foster them???

Whoops - Sorry I haven't posted an update. We did find a foster home for both the mom & pups. 2 of the pups didn't make it, and I'm not happy with the weight and progress of another 2 who are struggling. Mom is a little shellshocked, but coming around.
