Looking for Dachshund to Love!!!

My husband and I live in the Atlanta, GA area and are looking for a dachshund to rescue! We prefer red, shorthair, and mini, but shorthair is the definite. We prefer female. We have a lovely intown home with a soon-to-be-fenced yard for the lucky dog to play in. We also do have an indoor cat, a Siamese mix named Yum Yum (also a rescue animal), who is 4 years old and is super-friendly. She's a big kitty, about 15 lbs or so, and we feel a Dachsie would be the right size to not disrupt her too much. We also love the breed and have always wanted a wiener dog.

I've had rescue animals all my life, and we'd love to provide a good and loving home for a needy dog.

A wonderful companion for your family. I have three. smoothies. two are rescues. www.drna.org and c2cdr.com are two great places to start. Not all doxies love cats though. I have a himmie that my doxies love but had a dsh that they hated, needless to say bad things happened and the dsh is no longer with me. Good luck and take your time, there are many steps to go through for doxie rescue but if your are sincere and patient it will work out. Kathy and the outlaws in Ky and one ole cat
