I've been using an e-collar with my JRT, and it's worked wonders for his recall. But the one time he bolted after something small and furry, he paid no attention to the collar until after he'd brought it to bay.

Sid, First of all, I would have both dogs neutered.

Second, I recommend making sure that you are the alpha in your pack. For more information on this issue, consult Terry Ryan's excellent book, 'Toolbox for Remodeling Your Problem Dog.'

So if your problem isn't life threatening, declare a leader (preferably the more dominant dog, but you may have to do what I did and pick the weaker one).

The pack leader eats first, sleeps in the best spot, initiates and terminates play, petting, and grooming, guards the territory, etc. See Terry Ryan's pamphlet 'ALPHAbetize Yourself' for details. But above all, two-legged pack members are the highest ranking.
