My husband and I have been taking care of a feral cat (Frankie) for over a year now. We feed him daily and bought him a heated dog house and heated water bowl last year for the cold winters in Northwest Indiana. Despite all attempts to get close to him, he keeps his distance. We have 5 indoor kitties of our own and will be moving soon. Can someone please direct me on how to help Frankie? I cannot leave him here alone when we go, my conscience would never allow that. I would love to find him a permanent home somewhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

mslemon,
Why not humanely trap Frankie, and take him with you? He'll have to be separate from your other cats, but I figure he actually knows them

You will have to trap him and have him neutered and vaccinated. Use people's tuna in the trap. Then take him with you. ob.

Have you tried contacting a rescue center near you? If they can not take the cat maybe they could help you net or trap him ,so you can take him with you. If you take your dog house and continue to feed him -he'll stay with you. There are Soooo many homeless cats of all ages that are affectionate towards people ,finding Frankie a home with someone else is going to be a task. Good Luck and God Bless Your Caring Heart.
