Here's a quote about our new Majority Leader Bill Frist from today's Wall Street Journal : 'Beneath his doctor-knows-best exterior is a toughness: By his own account, when short of cats for a medical school project at Harvard, the future Dr. Frist turned to Boston animal shelters, where he adopted 'pets' only to cut them up days later for science.'

So there's a politician we can trust.

Here in CA you can't adopt an animal to eat, use in labs or anything else besides just as a pet. I would assume it's like this everywhere?

Yes, my local paper, the Albany Times Union says:

' In an episode that he now says he      deeply regrets, Frist toured animal      shelters around Boston, offering to      care for stray cats that he then killed      for medical experiments.'

Umm.................

Do the Republicans REALLY think they're replacing someone who is 'damaged goods' (Trent Lott) with someone who is NOT 'damaged goods?'

I'm just really surprised that we haven't heard fallout on this from Democrats or others (PETA?)

Am I the only person who thinks this is kinda like replacing David Duke with new player Jeffrey Dahlmer?

Isn't Frist plain old admitting that he lied, decieved, and, worst of all, murdered innocent and helpless animals that he got ahold of under the ploy of 'rescuing' them?

Nobody sees anything 'wrong' with that?   REALLY WRONG with that?

Sorry, W. and all the others promoting the warm fuzzies (oops! Wrong choice of words!) down in Washington about the new GOP leader - but I for one think the behavior was reprehensible, and to promote this person to a position of leadership is, well, 'sick'.

Who's next on the GOP 'stand-in' list: Adolph Hitler?

I just wrote to the political commentator at a local TV station. This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. Outrageous.

We've got to do something!

The problem (besides Frist being a scumbag) is that shelters and rescue groups do not have the time or the people to follow up on adoptions. That would have put a stop to the scumbag.
