I have an 18 YO tuxedo cat that desperately needs a place to stay for 3-4 months beginning in mid april. My family is driving across the country and we've determined that he can't make the journey...he's just too fragile. He has slight kidney disease and is hypothyroid and on medication. He needs pills twice daily, plus food, water, and a clean litter box. He's pretty content to sleep most of the day.
He's such a good guy and I DO NOT want to put him down, but we cannot take him with us. We're staying with allergic friends who will not allow him in the house and we have no other choice.
Please, any help or suggestions desperately needed.

I hate to say this but everyone has a choice. You could have stayed with friends who liked cats couldn't you? It is a shame that when people move the cat becomes disposable. I think if you loved this cat enough you would have taken him with you. No cat should be dumped or abandonded simply because the person moves.
