Animal Cruelty, Making A Difference
From time to time the question of states policy on the issue of cruelty toward animals reach public discussion.
I just read two different posts on cases of improper behavior towards animals. The first is the case of the pigeon shooting in Wimbledon here. The second is about the lack of real laws in Ontario Canada here.
There are many places where there there are no suitable laws to protect animals from their owners and from the arbitrary behavior of people and I find it really important to try and make a difference.
Simple things as letters to local newspapers are usually a good place to start but there are a lot of other options such as starting a petition for changing a law or a policy.
The more people discuss these cases and the more noise that they make the more the legislators would tend to make the necessary changes.
They don’t have to care for the cause it is enough that they care for the votes and putting our legs down to demand a change can go a long way.
Making ourselves heard is important so don’t settle for saying the situation is not satisfactory, try to find things that can be done as the animals can’t depend themselves and really need our help.
