Animal Cruelty In The Name Of Job Security

I have just read an interesting article on Joyatri that emphasis what we all know - most animal cruelty around the world is not stopped because governments allow it so people will be able to keep the jobs they are doing.
This includes fur trading, rare lobsters fishing, seal hunting and what shocked me totally is young bear capturing for bear-dancing.

The members of the Qalandar tribe in India have traditionally made their living by capturing bear cubs, doing horrific things to them, and having them work as dancing bears. Wildlife S.O.S. is rescuing these bears and through the Qalandar Rehabilitation program, the organization is helping these families find alternate employment and providing their children with education opportunities

It’s time people will understand that leaving those professions and finding new ones, more up-to-date, will not only save those animals, but will improve the lives, and even financial state, of those people.
