We all have our different reasons for not being happy bout about a certain poster... for some it is slanderous accusations, others it is... I guess I don't need to explain everything.
I promised him in return for his cross posting, I would cross post this. I apologuise to all those who care and look after 'their' groups as I do 'mine', but I have been crossed and hell hath no fury...
For those of us who enjoy these groups, one person has been a perpetual pain in the 'a'.
Sure, kill file keeps him from disturbing your peace but does nothing for the group, so that newcomers may judge the quality of the group on that which they first see... prolifically polluted by one JH (and Candice who I believe to be even worse of a pollutant because her 'owner' is supposedly sane. Sheep dogs that run out of control are shot. Candice lectures about cross posting yet runs wildly out of control across a broad span of news groups ~ aad included).
I am now angry... with both, but I fairly and squarely offered JH an ultimatum ~ do what you want to do, but leave alt.animals.dog alone. It is a very different group to most and I have personally, along with others, worked to maintain it as a 'community' where we speak nicely and exchange conversation without jumping down peoples throats.
Many members of aad are much older ~ 50 - 60 and + (I'm not!). It is not a training or behaviour group. It's just there for nice people to enjoy ~ maybe inane to many, but we like it like that. Some of our members are particularly sensative, some have very little pc skills beyond typing a simple email or posting ~ great! Some know very little about dogs ~ just like them ~ great! I love to hear what's been going on down at the dog park, what daft thing this or that pooch has been up to... there are other groups for people who want to discuss in greater depth with people in specialist areas (eg. rec.pets.dogs.breeds/behaviour/rescue etc...) go there as and when ~ and if people are 'wrong' and adiment with it that they are 'right' when discussing in these specialist groups, let them be flamed, but my 'home group' is not that kind of group...
Both have invaded my 'home group' and it looks a bloody mess.
Let Karen Craven know that I am angry. Candice wants shooting.
As for JH, I emailed his ISP and asked about how they dealt with complaints and if they would withdraw his service for his 'bad' behaviour... they said if someone is in violation, they will be struck off ~ I'm not sure if he is in violation but JH mocked my threat, so here goes:
about his cross posting and prolific posting of OT and unwanted material... I don't know if newsgroups are covered by the same rules as personal email but no descent sized company wants bad press and so I am sure if they had many, genuine and thought out complaints, I am sure they will take notice. ~ include message headers and snips and I personally will invite them with links to google sites to see for themselves,, the impact he is having and how much upset he has caused... you might want to do this or whatever ~ your expertise may well be greater than mine and you might have some better ideas. I also know he can get a new account and / or ISP but it will be a pain in the bum for him.
He has pissed me off so I will do all with in my power to return the

<group, so that newcomers may judge the quality of the group on that which they first see... prolifically polluted by one JH (and <Candice
I have wondered about this. Individuals are able to block Howe, why cant we all (since he's unwelcome everywhere anyway) complain to the bb that we love so much and petition to have him blocked from all of the lists. I KNOW (ok.. I want to know) that there has got to be a way to do this. There cant simply be a block only at the user level!! Can there?! If someone is enough of a plague, can't they be banned? All other groups I attend have this capability. I almost didnt post or read this group when I first got here. I thought, man, this isnt the kind of sh*t I want to read! He's a mad man! Thankfully I kept reading an realized he's a man obviously w/out a job... no one can post that much.. bitter and angry at the world w/ a touch of insanity. Thankfully, that wasnt everyone in the group! Anyone (other than psycho, cause I wont see ya anyway) have any suggestions to get him banned?

this is an unmoderated newsgroup, so there is absolutely no way to ban anyone. the only thing that can be done is to filter him and complain to his ISP, Bellsouth. Bellsouth doesn't seem terribly interested in TOSsing trolls, so filtering him is really the only thing you an do.
