A Call For The Animal Lover
Recently I’ve focused on the pets side of the blog but I’m ready to return to more of the real work on animals lives and our responsibility for their welfare and for maintaining their rights.
One of the ever present issues is the issue of sport hunting.
Reading Animal Ethics this morning I came across a very moving letter to the editor about the need to ban hunting with dogs and I do want to spread the word and help the C.A.S.H campaign this important organization is doing.
For the life of me I can’t really get why people think it is O.K to kill another creature just because it is fun.
I agree that it’s not OK to kill another creature just because it’s fun. It’s also not OK to eat other creatures (or their secretions) simply because they taste good. And it’s not OK to wear other creatures (i.e., fur, leather, wool) just because it’s fashionable to do so. The best thing that anyone can do for the animals is to go vegan.
Hi Alex, Going Vegan is important but I find that inspiring the love for animals connects people to small things they can do and in fact each person that opens his heart influence the social consciousness by creating norms for behavior toward animals.
